Oooooh that's an easy one! Heres a very basic summary. So the 1920's were great! It was known as the "baby boom" because of the large quantities of babies being born. The economy was improving and the technology was new. But then we moved into the 1930s this time is now known as the great depression, worldwide economic crash.

Causes of the great depression:

  • The Drought that occurred in Mississippi contributed to the great depression because it caused severe problems in agriculture and people couldn't pay taxes

  • Banks Closed

  • The huge cause was the stock market crash, it is a decline of stock prices

The effects of the great depression:

Unemployment

Poverty- poorness

Homelessness

Solution to the great depression:

Franklin D. Roosevelt, FDR, Was arguably one of our greatest presidents. He created several programs designed to solve the unemployment and poverty of the Great Depression. Ex: Social security, Agricultural Adjustment Act, National Industrial Recovery Act, the list goes on. You can look up his programs yourself.

The great depression ended during the beginning of world war II.
